Microsoft's change event streaming hits public preview across SQL Server 2025, Azure SQL, and Fabric SQL

Microsoft announced change event streaming is now in public preview across Azure SQL Database Hyperscale, Azure SQL Managed Instance, SQL DB in Fabric, and SQL Server 2025. The feature streams row-level inserts, updates, and deletes to message buses for downstream consumers, enabling real-time analytics and microservices patterns without added operational load on the source database. While foundational infrastructure for AI data pipelines, this is a SQL platform feature with limited direct AI conference signal.
