Can Robotics Hackathon Change Your Life?
Hugging Face's open-source Robot Worldwide Hackathon launched thousands of builders into robotics, many for the first time.
“After that, I did nine other hackathons and I won six out of it. So, it gave me really good boost.”
Hugging Face recaps its Robot Worldwide Hackathon, where thousands used a shared open-source robotic stack to build first-time projects ranging from t-shirt-folding ACT models to VLA-policy serving arms, with some work merged into the robot library. It signals growing accessibility and community momentum in open robotics, though it is a retrospective community-building piece rather than a major technical or product announcement.
