Building agents with real-world reasoning
Google Maps Platform launches Grounding Light MCP server to reduce LLM hallucinations with real-world data
“It moves the AI from making educated guesses to using real, solid data.”
Google Maps Platform introduced Grounding Light, an MCP server that connects LLMs to live geospatial data including place search (300M+ locations), weather, and routing. The tool addresses a core agent reliability problem — hallucinated location data — by substituting authoritative Google Maps data for model guesses. Presented at Google I/O, it targets developers building multi-agent systems that need real-world spatial awareness.
