“art has always reflected the technology of the time, and this is definitely the technology of the time”
Director Doug Liman (Bourne Identity, Edge of Tomorrow) discussed his embrace of AI filmmaking at Google I/O, revealing he co-founded 30 Ninja's, an AI filmmaking studio, alongside collaborators Julina and Jed. Liman framed AI as the latest in a career-long pattern of adopting enabling technologies, from high-speed film stock to VR. While notable as a high-profile Hollywood figure validating AI creative tools, the session is light on specific technical or product announcements.
