Publishing WASM wheels to PyPI for use with Pyodide
Pyodide WASM wheels can now be published directly to PyPI and installed at runtime via micropip.
“Moving forward, package maintainers can simply build and publish Pyodide wheels to PyPI, just as they do for native wheels on Linux, macOS, or Windows.”
Pyodide 314.0 plus a PyPI change (per PEP 783) now lets maintainers publish WASM/Pyemscripten wheels directly to PyPI instead of relying on Pyodide's hand-maintained 300+ package repo. Simon Willison demonstrates by packaging luau-wasm with Codex/GPT-5.5. It's a meaningful Python-in-the-browser tooling improvement but only a minor AI-industry signal.
