Smart Routing in Unity AI Gateway: Match frontier quality with 30%+ lower cost per task
Databricks Unity AI Gateway offers smart routing to cut costs 30%+ while matching frontier model quality
Databricks has launched smart routing in its Unity AI Gateway, promising 30%+ cost reduction on coding tasks by intelligently selecting among frontier models based on task complexity. The feature targets the fragmented 2026 model landscape where many capable models compete on price and performance. This matters as enterprises increasingly seek to optimize inference spend without sacrificing output quality.
